Heritage Collection

The Heritage Collection consists of material culture that links the social and cultural past of the Canadian Rockies with the present. The collection's strengths are in recreational areas such as climbing, skiing, hiking and riding; transportation and historic commerce areas such as outfitting, guiding, packing, surveying; and material associated with the pioneer household.

The Museum has exceptional collections related to the Stoney First Nation and an outstanding collection of Japanese materials acquired from Catharine Whyte's grandfather, Edward Morse.
