In its effort to make available for research, education, exhibition, and interpretation the cultural history of the Canadian Rockies, the Whyte Museum is interested in increasing the depth of its collections through donation. It acquires library and archival collections, art and cultural history artifacts in its efforts to improve its collection holdings.
Archival and library collections include all manner of published and unpublished material relevant to the Canadian Rockies, including books, pamphlets, brochures, theses and journals, as well as photographs, personal, business and organizational papers, maps, audiotapes, motion pictures, and videos.
Art collections include works of art, both historical and contemporary in any media, created by artists who have lived in, have actively worked in, or have used for inspiration the Canadian Rockies area. Cultural history collections include artifacts relating to the social, recreational, tourism, and industrial history of the Rockies.
